Visiting
100 countries was an accomplishment most could only dream about
50 years ago. It took considerable time and money. But the idea
of forming a club for those privileged few who had succeeded in
this feat was born in Los Angeles in 1954. By 1960 there were 43
who qualified and became charter members. The first open meeting
of the Travelers' Century Club was held a year later. Interest spread
as did the ease of travel. Today there are over 1,500 members throughout
the world. There are now 317 countries on the official list, with
about 35 members having visited over 300 of these destinations.
