Report on 50th Anniversary Weekend Nearly 100 TCC members celebrated the Club’s 50th Anniversary in New York City, April 16-18. Delegates attended from all over the U.S., Costa Rica, Germany and Great Britain. Members were royally chauffeured to and from all events in 10-seater limos. Most delegates arrived on April 15. That evening the Club hosted dinner at the well-known Molyvos Restaurant. The day’s activities on April 16 started with a special luncheon at the United Nations and an address by Harry Allen, Special Security of the USA UN Delegation. He briefed members on the overall security risks of the U.S. UN office. TCC members had a private guided tour of the UN Building, including a visit to the General Assembly Hall as well as the room of the current security assembly. Following a brief rest at Hotel Wellington, delegates were whisked by limo to Times Square where they enjoyed 1st and 2nd row seating for 42nd Street. On April 17, TCC delegates joined the New York chapter for their spring luncheon meeting. Area Coordinator Lynn Simmons welcomed visiting members and guests. Lloyd Lapidow gave an excellent presentation on Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. That evening those from out of town enjoyed an Italian dinner at the nearby Nocella Restaurant. Delegates departed for home the following day.
