Bob Petrik and Doris Greene presented a 33-day Lindblad Expedition cruise of "Islands of Atlantic Ridge" at the May 17 Miami area meeting. Circumnavigator guests attended. Bob and Cecilia will present their program on Saudi Arabia at our next meeting on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Area Coordinator Jan Novar reports that the S.E. Fla chapter met with 50 in attendance with RonMagill (4th from left), giving a movie presentation of Wildlife Safari from India at Safari -styled home of Luis Suarez osted the July 21 meeting at her home. Michael and Lisette Novar gave a presentation on Hong Kong, Cambodia, Thailand and China.

Southeast Florida TCC members enjoy a summer social
at the home of Area Coordinator Jan Novar.


Carol Ann Peskin (fourth from the right, seated) was the featured speaker at the afternoon spring meeting on Sunday, March 25. She talked about her adventures in Africa, including crossing the Congo. Area Coordinator Jan Novar (standing behind Carol, wearing a hat) noted that the locale was fitting – the Indaba African Gallery in Miami.



Southeast Florida TCC members enjoy their holiday party. Guest speaker Lew Toulmin, center, is holding a copy of the book he authored, called “The Most Traveled Man on Earth.”

Lew Toulmin was speaker at the Southeast Florida Holiday Party on December 10, 2006 at the home of Lee and Alvina Duffner in Golden Beach, reports Area Coordinator Jan Novar. There was also a travel gift exchange.


The spring 2006 social meeting of the Southeast Florida chapter was held at the home of Bob Petrik who presented a video of Bhutan and Pentecost Island. He served Czech-style sandwiches and entertained on the piano. Among those attending: Area Coordinator Jan Novar, Carol Ann Peskin, Mary Pecen, Bob Petrik (Slovak Honorary Consul of Florida), Babara Stein, Pege Ellefsen, Susan Pierres and Frank Puskas.

Southeast Floridians came from different directions to Jan and John Novar's tropical island-decorated home in Miami for the fall social gathering. Jennifer Reynolds from Intrav Cruises gave a review of their FarFlung Island Cruises. Husband Stuart Reynolds gave a talk on his diving expedition to the Nautilus, a sunken submarine off of Bergen, Norway.


Below is a photo from our summer 2005 meeting, featuring Tom and Betty Christian, descendants of Fletcher Christian of Mutiny on Bounty. They were house guests of Barbara Stein. They put on a slide show  of the Pitcairn Islands where they reside. Our March 20, 2005 social at the beachfront home of Lee and Alvina Duffner was very successful. (See photo below.) She says the Duffners served everyone a beautiful lunch and showed their slides from the “Stan” countries.

Area Coordinator Jan Novar reports that the Dec. 12 Holiday Party was a lot of fun with participants exchanging travel souvenirs they no longer wanted. It was held at the Hollywood, FL, home of Barbara Stein & Ted Cookson.
